Lukas got this because......

NO MORE DIAPERS!!!!!! That's right! Lukas is potty trained. We have been telling him for a while now, that if he wouldnt go potty in his pants anymore, he could get a wagon. He has been trying so hard and doing so good that the days of diapers are gone. Brian put the wagon together today and you should have seen the look of pure joy on Lukas' face. He is LOVING it! I guess he has officially turned into a big boy and I can enjoy a few months of no diaper changing until our little girl comes. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU LUKAS!!!!! (kinda sad though. Does that mean he isnt my baby anymore? In my mind, he will always be my baby.)

Last weekend, my sister, Candace and her family came to my parents for a little visit. This is Lukas with her little girl, Kambri. Isnt she just adorable?! She is seriously a BEAUTIFUL baby. Lukas LOVES her so much and always wanted to hold her. He is so excited for his baby sister that he can hardly stand it. He is going to be the best big brother. JUST 3 MORE MONTHS and our little girl will be here! We are getting more and more excited all the time. Hopefully the next 3 months will go by fast cause we are just getting so anxious to meet this special little baby.
(Sorry for the slacking on blogging. I have no excuses. Just laziness. I will do better.)

Just a bunch of recent pics of us.....

These three pics were taken today before church. You can see that his eye really is looking a ton better. I got him this new shirt and we think he just looks so grown up. Isnt he such a handsome boy?! We sure think so. And yes, this is me today at 22 weeks along. As you can see... I am growing! I am feeling really good and I can feel her moving a ton. Brian and Lukas have both been able to feel her too!

Here is Lukas chasing a squirrel at the park the other night. He got pretty close and he thought it was so funny. He was laughing so hard he could hardly run.

You might have noticed that in almost all the pics, Lukas is wearing cowboy boots. My dad bought them for him after his surgery cause I think he felt sorry for him. Lukas LOVES them and he has to wear them EVERYWHERE!!! Seriously. Even to church. He likes to wear his cowboy hat too. I guess we have a future cowboy on our hands. (That will make my dad happy.)

And this last pic is our new swing set. Brian put it together yesturday and Lukas is in heaven. It is nothing fancy but it sure in entertaining for him. I just know that I will be outside all summer pushing him in the swings.
Well, this is what we have been up to lately. Just hanging out with eachother and taking it easy. Life is pretty good.

We are having a ...............

............Girl !!!!!.............
Yes, we found out today that Lukas (and Brian) have been right all along. Lukas is indeed getting a baby sister just like he has always told us. I think he knew all along and that is just amazing to me. Everything looks good and the baby is developing like she should with no problems. We are so excited to have a little girl join our family and we couldnt be happier. This is such a huge blessing for us. Lukas came with us to the ultrasound, so he got to see his sister on the t.v. screen. (so we called it.) It has been the perfect day!!!!

Also, I will have have to post some pics of Lukas because the other night while he was sleeping, one of his eyes hemorraged (I dont how to spell that.) I took him to the dr. and he said it is ok. A blood vessel broke in his eye and it looks awful. But he is ok. It will take several weeks to heal but it doesnt seem to bother him. I will put some pics on here soon. It is bad looking though, so be prepared. But he is recovering from the surgery part well and so we are thankful for that.

Lukas' surgery

Here is Lukas sleeping after we got home from the surgery. They gave him some sunglasses cause his eyes were really sensitive to light. So he had to sleep in them. He was pretty out of it for just a little while.

Last night, some people in our ward brought Lukas this really cute balloon. It totally made his day eventhough he doesnt look to happy in theis picture. He has been carrying this balloon around the house ever since we got it. It was so nice of his friends to get this for him.

This morning we gave Lukas a bath and since he cant have tap water in his eyes for 2 weeks we thought that maybe if we kept the glasses on it would make it so he didnt rub his eyes. It worked pretty good. I think we were able to give him his bath without any water in his eyes.

And this is him this morning with his really blood shot eyes. He is acting like his old self today so I think he is feeling better. His eyes look alot better then they did yesturday. We were worried he would wake up today with black eyes cause last night they started turning purple underneath. But it looks like they wont bruise.
Well, the surgery was a success. The dr. said it went just the way he wanted it too and was able to replace the muscles in the exact spot that he wanted. It will take 8 to 10 weeks before they know for sure if his eye was corrected completely so I guess we wait and see. Lukas did so good! He was so good before the surgery. He went right back and let the nurse take him away without any tears. We were so relieved cause I know I would have cried if they would have taken him away kicking and screaming. The surgery last about 45 minutes and when they brought him back to us, he was really screaming and throwing a fit. He couldnt see us and his eyes were just so sore and the IV in his arm was hurting him and so it took a little while before we could calm him down. He was just so out of it and confused I think. So..... I started bawling! I felt so bad cause even though I was holding him, he couldnt see me and so he was yelling for me and trying to pull the IV out. It was the saddest thing ever. But we finally got him calmed down and he felt a ton better once they got the IV out. Poor little guy. I bet he was scared to death. But after an hour we were able to go home. He was kinda groggy for the rest of the day but he would play for a little bit and then go lay down to rest. Every now and then he puts his hands over his eyes and says that they hurt and cries a little. But it doesnt last long. Last night he had a hard time going to sleep cause they hurt but once he fell asleep, he slept good. We have to put eyedrops in his eyes 4 times a day for a week and that is really hard cause he hates them and screams but we just have to do it anyway.
So, everything went well and we are so thankful that he is ok and really he doesnt seem to remember too much about it. He has handled everything so well and we love him so much. I realized how much I really love him and how much he means to me. Sitting in the waiting room waiting to see him again, alot goes through your mind and you realize a lot of things about life. I am so blessed to have such a sweet little guy and I hope this works and that he doesnt have to have more surgeries. We love our Lukas so much and know he is a very special little boy.

Weekend in Boise and OUR EXCITING NEWS!

Last weekend, we went to Boise because Brian had tickets to some college bball games. So Lukas and I went along to see some family too. We spent most of the weekend at Brian's sisters cause my sister had a sick kid and since we are finally to the point where no one in our house is sick, I thought maybe we should stay away. (Sorry Tina. We would have loved to see you more!)
And from the pics above, you can see that Lukas had a great time. We took a few walks to the park and even had an early Easter egg hunt for the kids in Rachael's back yard. Lukas had a lot of fun with that. He loved having his cousins to play with and got lots of exercise from all the running around that he did.
Lukas' surgery is in one week from today and can I just say that I am a nervous wreck! I just dont want to have to put my little boy through that but everyone keeps telling me he will thank me when he is older and everything will work out. They better be right. I am going to be sobbing the whole time he is having surgery I am sure. I wish I could be in there holding his hand and making sure he is ok. But then again, maybe I dont want to see it. Oh well, it is not like I have a choice. So keep little Lukas in your prayers that his eye can get fixed and everything goes well.
And now for the news you have been waiting for........ (For those of you that dont already know)
WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #2 !!!!!!! We are so excited and Lukas is beyond excited to have a sibling. He keeps saying it is a sister but I guess we will see if he is right. We find out on April 10 what we are having. (Two weeks from today!) I am about 18 weeks along right now and due on August 30. (One day before Lukas' b-day. And no, we didnt plan it that way. It just happened.)
But I am feeling really good and everything seems to be going good. I was sick up until 11 weeks along and then I woke up one day and it was like the nausea just disappeared. Not that I can complain cause I was just nauseous alot, no puking. So that is good. Lukas is so sweet though cause I try not to carry him and he knows why and so when he sees me carrying things he always asks me if it is too heavy. And he loves to kiss my belly and talk to his baby. He is going to be a great big brother! So... there you have it.... one of the reasons I havent blogged alot lately. I guess I have just had other stuff on my mind. But now that the secret is out, I will blog more regularly. Bye for now!

Update!

Sorry I havent blogged in forever. We are without a computer again but we are getting a new one soon so I will get back to blogging soon. I am on my parents computer right now and just thought I would do a quick update. Lukas' eye surgery is scheduled for April 3rd. I will be so happy when that is done. At least it is actually going to finally happen. I thought he would be in a eye patch forever. I am still nervous about it but I guess that is to be expected. We are going to Boise next weekend cause Brian got some tickets to some March Madness basketball games. So of course we cant miss out on those. Lukas and I are going along to hang out with some fam so that will be fun. My brother, Landon and his wife, welcomed a new baby girl into their family a couple of days ago. They named her Addy Lynn. She weighed in at 8 pounds 10 ounces. So she is a healthy little tyke. We are excited to meet her. Over all, everything is going good and we are happy! Keep checking in on us though cause if you havent already heard, we have some very exciting news!!!!!! (I will post more soon. I promise.)

Valentine Weekend in Utah

Over Valentine's weekend, we decided to go to Salt Lake City for a couple days to get away. So here are a few pics from the trip. I didnt take many pictures because I had the worst cold ever while we were there. Ya, perfect timing huh. But it was still fun. Lukas was very interested in the statue of Christ at Temple Square. He just kept looking up at it in awe. We also went shopping at the Gateway Mall but it was snowing hard the whole time so we didnt stay long. On Valentines Day we met my sister and her husband and son at the Olive Garden for some yummy food. It was good to see them. Then we just went back to the hotel and Brian took Lukas swimming and I layed on the bed and watched t.v. since my head felt like it was going to explode thanks to my cold. We did watch Twilight that night though. We rented it through the hotel t.v. so now I can finally say that I saw it. I thought it was good. Brian even thought it was ok. ( This being from the guy who thought I was weird for reading books about vampires.) So we had a fun weekend and it was nice to get away eventhough we didnt go very far. It is just nice to get away sometimes and spend a little family time together.
